The Munger Place Historic District can be found in what is called Old East Dallas. In the early 1900's, the neighborhood started out an upscale home for the elite businessmen of Dallas. However, the neighborhood soon fell into neglect during the great depression and following years. Now the neighborhood is recognized by the National Historic Register of Historic Places and many of the historic homes have been restored. Homes in the area are in the Prairie style with tree-lined streets, sidewalks, and pristine lawns. And, proximity to downtown and all it has to offer increases the desirability of the neighborhood.
