New upscale homes are scattered amongst the historic bungalows and Tudor style homes in the Belmont Addition neighborhood in east Dallas. The tearing down of historic homes and the building of homes that are not of the same neighborhood style prompted the beginning of a neighborhood association to protect the integrity of the historic Belmont community. Numerous restaurants and bars are within walking distance and great recreation options are available at the Lakewood Country Club, and just minutes away is the exciting Art District with cultural and entertainment opportunities.
